2009 is gone!

With 2009 behind us and 2010 beginning I have decided a lot of changes are in store for this new year.
2009- A lot happened in 2009. I did many things I am proud of and did some things I am sad to say I did. I made friends and lost friends. There were some hard times and some great times. Overall, I learned, loved, and laughed a lot! Here is an outline of 2009-
January- Ellie started solid (as solid as mushy baby food it) foods. Levi got to stay home with her quite a bit while he was off work, which made for some great bonding time!
February- Ellie cut 4 teeth this month and she also began sitting up on her own.
March- Really- I can't think of much this month. I know we had a ton of fun because March is my favorite month and green is my favorite color. Ellie sported some awesome St. Patrick's Day outfits!
April- Our family took a trip to New Jersey to see family. It was great! Ellie was awesome on the plane and loved getting know her cousin Karleigh! It was also wonderful seeing the sights of Philadelphia and New Jersey!
May- I completed the last requirements for me to get my level two teaching license! Wahoo! Now time is the only thing standing in my way! Ellie also started to crawl this month.
June- With school over Ellie and I spent a lot of time together! It was great to hang out! She started cruising along furniture and was convinced everything belonged to her. We also started spending a lot of time in the water! As it heated up my little fish developed...
July- We took our family trip to Washington to visit Grandma and Grandpa Pratt. It was good to visit family and spend some much needed time away. Levi had a lot of fun being back home. We explored Spokane and Coeur d'Alene and I decided it is really wonderful up there! We also took the Richmond trip to New Mexico to see Great Grandma Richmond. It was great for Ellie to meet most of her family on that side. She LOVED cousin Brian and his facial hair! (Too funny!)
August- Ellie turned 1 on the 29th of this month. We had a great party up at Indian Springs Resort and RV. There were many family members that came to celebrate. Ellie couldn't take the excitement and slept through most of the day.
September- Ellie started walking this month. We invested in baby gates since the kitchen table bench didn't hold her out anymore.
October- Our family had a wonderful Halloween. Levi and I were boring and didn't dress up but Ellie was a bumblebee. We went to a few houses for candy but spent most of the night visiting friends and family around town. (Who of course gave her more candy.) We all ended up with the flu this month- all three of us got it out the way within a week- which was horrible because we all had to fend for ourselves but it was great because it was over with!
November- November was a slow month for us. We just hung out at home most of it. Ellie seemed to have a continuous cold for the entire thing. Ellie also decided it was fun to stand in her crib and try really hard to climb out so we had to lower the mattress... how long that will last I don't know.
December-December was long month... it seemed. A lot to do at home and at school. It seems I can never catch up. Ellie really started talking this month. We can understand quite a bit of what come out. Mommy, Dada, Papa, Gmama, down, puppy, up, please, and thank you. Ellie was a ton of fun at Christmas! She was so excited about everything that she would give everyone high fives each time she opened a gift. She was spoiled more than she should have been. Levi and I are scared that the terrible twos have begun! Ellie has quite the attitude! (She gets it from her dad!)

Now that 2009 is summed up in short (well long) description I will hopefully keep you a little more up to date throughout 2010. I have set many goals for this year and one is to keep the blog updated- at least once a week. Is that a bit much? We'll see but I hope I can do it for my sake- it would be really nice to look back at the wonderful memories we are creating as a family!
