Fingers Crossed!

Well I have been super stressed this week. We, myself and 3 friends, are taking the Praxis test this Saturday. We need to pass in order to keep our teaching license. We have studied and studied as a group and alone. As a group we have done very well on the practice tests, however, I am nervous about how I will do on my own! I am hoping we can all pass and be able to celebrate together. If you think of us on Saturday keep your fingers crossed that we will do well and I don't hyperventilate as I enter the testing room.

Next week is the deadline for our portfolios so I probably won't be on much either. Bare with me- I will be back and blogging in no time! (Not that anyone actually enjoys reading this thing!)

Easter

I love Easter. It seems like such an innocent holiday. Even though it is becoming more and more focused around the Easter bunny and eggs I still feel and sense the true spiritual part of this day. The Resurrection of Christ really is extremely important for we could not be where we are today without it. We celebrated by going to church and discussing the Resurrection and Christ in the morning. When we came home Levi got called to work so Ellie and I spent the day napping and playing. Ellie did get an Easter Basket with a few things- little people, a new book, and a rubber ducky that looks like a bunny.
She wore this darling pure white dress to Church. Daddy picked it out but mom made my bow!


Saturday night we invited Megan and Cliff over for dinner. And what else would we do beside die eggs together the night before Easter. After boiling 25 eggs we had tons of fun! We learned that egg dying is a science- 3 tbs of water, dissolve tablet, add 1/2 cup water or use 3 tbs of vinegar- geez! It was quite confusing I think I am going to stick with food coloring and water from now on!

Sweet Sunday!

Well I decided I am going to start giving me a topic to post about each day in hope I post more often. I am going to make Sundays "Sweet" by baking something in the kitchen. I will post pictures and how it turned out. Levi is quite excited about this as maybe I will start cooking and baking more instead of him having to do it all.

Well today I started it off by baking Levi a Red Velvet double layer cake topped with cream cheese frosting. It looks horrible- not the smoothest frosting job but Levi said it tasted good. I guess I will get better with practice! Here are the pics-

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Geez these past few weeks have been nothing but busy! With the end of term came grading and P/T conferences. Then I helped with the Children's Sociable which is was awesome! I love you Alison and I would do it all over again for a friend! Then it was Grandparents day at school so much of my time was spend laminating and gluing special projects made by the kids. This past week has only been busy because I have been getting ready to go to Idaho and New Jersey. We spent Friday and Saturday in Idaho for a cousin's birthday party. Happy 2nd Sweetie! Tomorrow we take off to New Jersey to see my brother, sister-in-law and neice! The countdown is almost over! WAHOO! I am super excited and still have tons to do but we are going rain, snow, sleet, or hail! See you soon K! When we get home we will have tons of pictures to post and tons of fun experiences to share!

I'm a little late!

We went to the doctor on St. Patrick's day, for her 6 month check up. She weighs 16.2 lbs and is 26 inches long. The Doc said she is a genius! She is sleeping through the night and eating table/baby food very well! He gave clearance for us to smash, smoosh, or liquefy any food we want to feed her. It is great to see how great she is growing. She is sitting up on her own now which scares me! I am so worried she is going to thump her head on the floor but each time she tips over she just looks up and smiles.

Here are some pics of Ellie on St. Patrick's day! I love her dress that is covered in clovers. I also made the bow on her head! She was so cute just playing in her dress all day! Everyone loved it and we got tons of compliments about how cute she was! Thanks! I love that she is so friendly and a people person!

Time Flies!

WOW! Ellie is 6 months old now! 1/2 a year! I cannot believe how fast time is going. I thought once I started teaching time really flew but that doesn't even compare to how time has flown since Ellie was born! Each day new things are happening with her! A few recent happenings are:

• She is rolling and rolling! She is able to roll around where ever you put her. If she is confined and can't keep rolling, boy oh boy, does she let you know she is unhappy. She has also started rolling over while she sleeps. This really freaks her out so lately we awake to her blood curdling screams because she rolled over. It is so sweet to see her strength and determination even as little as she is.
• She has 2 teeth and I think she is working on some more. I was all prepared with teething gel and tablets (Thanks Kaylee!) and frozen teething toys and the little one didn't need any of it! One day Reyanna at the daycare called and asked if I knew Ellie had a tooth. Well nope! Then the next day she had the other! There was never the slightest bit of a fuss about it.
  
• All in all Ellie is healthy. She weighs appox. 17 lbs and I bet 28 or 29 inches long. She has had two ear infections. Poor thing! A month ago she had an infection in both ears now she has it in one ear. It is hard to not be able to fix the problem and really not be able to even help. She is such a good little baby that we really lean on our gut feeling to tell us something is wrong.
• Ellie is now eating baby foods. I can't believe that I am not her only source of nutrition anymore, it makes me sad because I know we are one step closer to her growing up. :( She has tried carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, green beans, applesauce, and bananas. By far her favorites are carrots and bananas! Yummy!

Over the last 6 months we have learned a lot about our little girl. Ellie is very stubborn, like her dad. Although he would say, like her mom. She is a beautiful little one! I cannot believe how pretty she is, but I guess I am biased. She has quite the personality and is quite adventurous! Have toys, will play! Have car seat, will travel! I also have the sneaking suspicion that she will be a shy one. Ellie is always burying her head in my shoulder when anyone is talking to her. Who does this sound like?Ummm... her mom maybe?!

I look forward to watching me beautiful baby girl grow up! Levi and I are so proud to have her and be able to teach her and guide her through this adventure we call life! We look forward to many years in the future!

This is Spud hiding under my car as I am trying to head to work. Spuddly went through a phase, well he is still in it, when he felt he needed to be attached to someone 24/7. He would sneak out the door and hide under the car so I couldn't move the car. I would attempt to get him out from under the car however the tricky little guy would scoot to the other side of the car as I went to grab him.
The only way to get him out was to trick him! So we learned to, get his dog bag, open the car door, and call Spud to come. Then grab him before he figures out he reallly is just going back inside. Haha!

Update on Us

Well our story is quickly becoming longer and longer as time goes on. Many things are changing and happening each day. We love our life and everything it is bringing us.
We were married on April 21, 2007 at Wheeler Farm in SLC. We bought a house here in Grantsville about the same time. We are slowly remodeling it from one side to the other. It is a good house for now, but sooner than later we hope to sell and build our "dream" house. However the heated debates about where that will be located are continuing- I'll keep you updated on those developments.
I started teaching 1st grade at Willow Elementary in Grantsville the fall of 2007. It is great and for now I love my job! There is always something new happening! The students are great and know how to make you smile, laugh, or even cry. I am so proud to be their teacher. I hope to use this to post some of the funny things that happen each week.
Levi has been working for Pacific West for 5 years now. He does a lot of environmental and construction work. It is too complicated for me to really understand. He loves what he does even though it comes with hard work and some stress. It is nice that he generally looks forward to going to work!
We had Ellie in August of 2008. We love her very much! She is teaching us things we never could have imagined an infant could teach us! It has been so great to start our family and recognize how much we are growing together!
We have two dogs, Spud who a 3 year old Pomeranian and Cooper who is a 2 year old Black Lab.

We're Back

Well we're back. After starting this blog and posting once I kinda felt unmotivated to keep it up . However, with the rapid increase of family and friends starting their own blogs I decided to start again. Hopefully I will be better. I might need some to email or call and remind to update this. Who wants that job?
